Okay, peeps, I don't think I have to point out that the comments mostly left on the wiki pages in the past days are generally not pleasant. So we're going to establish some guidelines.

The first thing I wish to get down is that I am a non-hetero woman and that I started this wiki with the absolute intent for it to be safe for people who normally do not get their due in society or fandom. So we're doing a balance here in favor of people who one way or another fit MOGAI. There are people here who won't like that, but that's the way it is. For the ones who cite religious reasons, my sympathies for your life details end when those include you denying other people their (harmless) life details. If you're looking for a crowd more attuned to your …

    Thronecoming Request

    October 22, 2014 by Parrotbeak

As some of you will already know, the Thronecoming special has aired in several European countries already and is currently available online in French thanks to fellow fans. Perhaps some of you are watching it already.

But in that regard, I have a request to make. Please mind the spoilers when leaving comments or writing articles. The special is fair game after its USA date, but before that please limit any conversation on it on this wiki.

    Disney - A Warning

    May 17, 2014 by Parrotbeak

Alright, I really don't want to do this, but I am considering making Disney a forbidden topic on this wiki.

Mind that while I am not a fan of Disney for plenty of reasons (that Lilo & Stitch is a masterpiece notwithstanding), but I certainly don't object to people enjoying such a big part of Western culture. But there is a problem when people can't enjoy Ever After High without being subjected to Disney as well, like Disney created the bulk of its fairytale-type movies. It didn't. It has taken classic fairytales that exist in hundreds of forms and made one interpretation out of it as their product. No one else who wishes to do the same is bound by Disney's interpretation.

What makes Ever After High appealing to me is that many companies do adhere to …

    Wiki Anniversary

    May 7, 2014 by Parrotbeak

I'm not going to make this a big deal, but I don't want to let the day just go by. Today, it's a year ago that I clicked the "Create a Wiki"-button and, well, the rest is history.

I've sentimentally been working towards this day a little in the past week - getting a background I always wanted and updating the main page, while getting a few pages and facts up to date. I know the main page profiles are a little boring fact-wise right now, but that's because the franchise is young and many characters still suffer profile illness (ie, they are little else/more than their (theoretical) profile). The design works much better for Monster High characters, who have three years advantage, but that's nothing that another year of Ever After High can't fix…

Blog 3 of 2: The End

    March 7, 2014 by Parrotbeak

So, does anyone remember the line:

"And also, I know that if I close this door, it will never open again (I mean, assuming it's still open. For all I know the silence is because it has ended behind my back)."

From my Ultimatum post? Turns this is actually what has happened. The officialness deal has been "terminated" without any note on that in my inbox.

After my Ultimatum blog post, I sent an email to Wikia about the situation and what would be a final deadline given all that has (not) happened. They confirmed my worst-case suspision that Mattel had backed out of this, explaining that Mattel had completely underestimated the workings of a wiki and the expectation any ties with it would put on their end. Wikia also relayed that Mattel is emba…
